Frank
Mondi, VMD
As a young man, Dr. Frank Mondi worked as a
groom, trainer and driver of standard-bred horses. While
attending Utica College, he decided to become a veterinarian. He
received his B.S. in Biology in 1962 and his Doctorate of
Veterinary Medicine from the University of Pennsylvania in 1966.
Following an internship at the University of Pennsylvania, Dr.
Mondi began private practice. He also worked for the New York
State Racing and Wagering Board and the Utica Zoo, before
founding the NHAH in 1978. Dr. Mondi is a member and past
president of the CNYVMS
and the OCVMS, member and
past executive board member of the
NYSVMS and member of the
AVMA. He lives in New
Hartford with his wife of 44 years, Clorinda. He is a proud
father of four and has eleven grandchildren. His community
commitments include hosting "Pet Talk" on WKTV, serving on the
Utica College Board of Trustees and Health Advisory Committee
and Breakthrough Central New York. He is an active member of the
New Hartford Rotary and his church, St. John the Evangelist.
Mark
Chmielewicz, DVM
Dr. Mark Chmielewicz received his B.S. from
the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at Cornell
University and his doctorate from the Cornell University College
of Veterinary Medicine. He joined NHAH in 1985. Dr. Chmielewicz
is an executive board member of the
NYSVMS, president of the
CNYVMA, member of the
AVMA and an advisor for
Oneida County Environmental Health C.A.R.E. Project. His hobbies
include trail running, cross-country and downhill skiing and
white water canoe trekking.
Gregory Jamrosz, DVM
Dr. Greg Jamrosz received his B.S. in Animal
Science from Cornell University College of Agriculture and Life
Sciences in 1984. He worked as a veterinary assistant with Dr.
Mondi from 1985 to 1986 before attending graduate school. In
1989, he received his M.S. from the University of Illinois in
Champaign-Urbana after studying physiology and the effect of
environmental stress on livestock. He received his doctorate
from Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1993.
He joined NHAH as a full time associate in 1994. Dr. Jamrosz is
currently a member of the AVMA,
the NYSVMS and the
CNYVMA. He is president of
the Board of Directors of Freedom Guide Dogs and coordinates the
Feral Cat Clinics at Spring Farm CARES.
David
Nickel, DVM
Dr. David Nickel is a third generation doctor
born in Bryon, Texas. Dr. Nickel received his B.S. in Biology
from the College of William and Mary, earned his Doctorate of
Veterinary Medicine from the University of St. George's College
of Veterinary Medicine in Grenada, W.I. and completed his
clinical year of training at the University of Columbia-Missouri
College of Veterinary Medicine. He is a member of the
NYSVMS and the
AVMA. Dr. Nickel moved to
New York State and joined New Hartford Animal Hospital and Care
Center in 2004. He lives in Marcy with his wife and three
Labrador Retrievers.
